Hi guys, just wanted to update this thread on how I got on. Well I eventually got the ol' Jimbo back from the garage (after 3 days worth of work and a very thirsty Landy Discovery 'courtesy' tractor) I decided to crack on with the boot switch mod.
I firstly took out the back seats and removed the side interior panels, after looking around for an existing boot switch connector I gave up and decided to use a single length of automotive cable to piggy back into the passenger side door switch, this went off without a hitch and now works great! Finally my cat 1 alarm also protects the 'rear glovebox'
One point to note though, I did originally splice and twist the cables together, but this didnt seem too strong so I used a 'choc block' type connector which is a lot more durable.
...Next on the agenda, a rear glovebox (AKA boot) interior light, I just have to figure out how to remove the roof lining...... now where'd I put my stihl saw
