Boot Door Switch

Anyway, I've been tinkering a bit with the car adding the extras like boot mounted 12v accessory socket, USB charging points in the front, centre and rear etc but have come across a problem when fitting a boot door switch, which I'm hoping someone may be able to help with....
I was wondering which wire from the rear loom to attach the switch to, I have checked the wiring diagrams and it references cable L10/N but doesnt mention any wire colour, would this wire even exist on the 2001 hard top version of the Jimny, if not, do you think it would be ok to splice this switch into to the passenger side door switch (L17/N black/red wire).
Any pointers would be very much appreciated. Cheers

Sorry but not going to be able to give you a hard and fast answer, as you have beaten me to doing this! After fitting my alarm, which senses the doors being opened off the light switches, I have wanted to fit one to the boot. As far as I can make out the wire connected to the switch just needs to be earthed, and it will then make the light come on. So splicing the passenger side one should work fine, that is what I was planning on doing.
I am sure someone with more know how will come along and put me right or shout me down soon enough if needs be. Would be interested to know how you get on! Was also planning on putting some boot lights in, but not worked out how to do that yet! :pinch:

The wire is already there its behind the pasenger side rear pannel you just need as switch which is the same as the front door switches, you cant get it wrong as its the only one there that will fit on the switch.
Its a pain getting the pannel off as you have to remove the rear seat, but its worth the hassel to be able to open the boot and see what you are doing

Would anyone know what colour wire to look for when inspecting the rear (L?) wiring harness as I'd like to use the correct wire firstly and only splice into the passenger side wire only as a last resort.
My next task will be to run a spur from the existing interior light to a new light located in the boot area, do you think is there any possibility of overloading the circuit by doing this (I may also look into to using LED lights instead of the incandescent types to further reduce power consumption).
