iPod Connection to Standard Clarion Jimny CD/Radio, is it possible? If so I'd welcome advice.
If not, guess I'll have to shell out on a new radio:(

Thank you in advance:)

You need an iPod-CeNet cable, something like this . Then you should get an AUX source available and you can fumble around with the standard controls like this . However, it's quite limited in functions (only 6 playlists, etc).

Many thanks for a superb response. Unfortunately my car is a 2003, so I think it may be too early a model. There is no aux port, that I can see, but I could be wrong.

AFAIK, they introduced the CeNet in 2001 so you should be covered. There is no physical aux port, just "software": you will select the AUX source when you want to play music from the iPod. Actually, the iPod will appear to your Clarion as a CD changer unit, that's why you get the 6 playlist limitation (because it emulated a 6-disc CD changer).

Considering the cable is quite expensive and you have a 2003 model (pre-face lift, so no rounded plastic corners) you can fit just about any 1-DIN (and use the remaining space for a CB radio perhaps) or 2-DIN unit (chinese all-in-one units with GPS and all whistles & bells).
