Here is a picture of my Rocksliders. The tubes going under the car are welded to spreader plates which are then welded direct to the side of the chassis. No pictures of the welds and spreader plates taken I'm afraid but I'm sure you can imagine.

I now have a cage mounted to them as seen in the pictures of mine in the gallery. The Rocklsliders have been used on Rocks too - the car has been dropped hard down onto rocks on the sliders causing no damage and has now been on it's side and the cage flexed a little but stopped major damage and went back to where it ought to be when it was righted.
I wouldn't have sills now if I had no sliders!
Hope this helps.

I'm going to start making mine in about half an hour, I'll take some photos and will get them on here.
Like kirkynut, I too am using spreader plates to weld to the chassis.

I used tube and hammered it into chassis about a foot, where holes are then welded around them. And there are solid.

I bought some chrome side bars (tubes ) locally that were very cheap, decided not to fit them but sold on to a bloke a long way away so made up some brackets that he could bolt onto chassis- basically an out rigger fastened to some very heavy angle reinforced with a gussett that would bolt through chassis, he said they fitted fine
but welding to chassis would be best option, for sure

As promised:
Mock up made of the rock sliders out of wood:
Marking the metal the same size as the mock up:
Cutting the metal to length:
Welding it all together:
Grinding angles in the ends of the 2x1 so that they fit flush on the chassis rails:
Done!.... Now I just need to paint them then get them welded on to the chassis:
I'll post pictures when completed and fitted to the car however it won't be for a few weeks.
