Noisy internally !!

Some advice please.

My new Jimny project came with a 2" bodylift but I"ve noticed a lot of engine noise coming up from the gear/transfer levers and it seems as though the gaiters now dont seal the gap properly. Is this normal after a body lift or is there some way of sealing it up a bit better.

:unsure: Dont think even if the rubber gaiters wernt fitted properly they would prevent excesive noise coming through. What sort of noise do you have, exhaust, drive-train ?

Just general engine and road noise definately coming up at the levers.

I can tell you having just re-asembled mine. That under the cosmetic gear stick gaiter (the one you see that fits on the plastic gearbox tunnel) you should have another rubber gaiter on the gearstick which attaches to the flat rubber held down by 4 bolts which creates a water proof seal. If I remember correctly the transfer box lever just has the 1 gaiter that bolts to the floor.

Aah, both gaiters are just loose, not fastened down in any way !!

I to have just fitted an ORA 2" body lift. and yes lots more road noise from the gear lever gaiter, it now does'nt fit as good and occasionally comes off, get loads of road noise then as you put it back on gets a little quieter.
