Hi Iv got a oil leak coming from the top of my engine its dripping down onto the gearbox. Its right at the back.What ever the part is its attached to the rocker cover its got a couple of wires coming out of it. Its this part that i need to know the name of. I hope this makes some sense. Someone told me its where a distributor would be but its replaced with a blacking plate on this engine but I'm unsure i don':dry: t have a clue really.
Sounds like the cam angle sensor to me. Is it the G13BB sohc motor? If it is I would be thinking the rocker cover gasket is the culprit. The seal is a round profile silicone gasket and is prone to leaking at the rear (firewall) end. Cheap and easy to replace by any handyman. Just be sure to tighten up equally as you re-fit to stop the silicone bulging or pinching.
