Heater Not Working was created by Neil
Hi all, I'm new here and I've just bought an 04 Jimny soft top.
The heater does not give any heat at all, the engine temp is normal, I noticed the top hose from the radiator is hot and the bottom hose is cold. can anybody help me with this problem.
Thanks

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Most likely someone has given the plastic levers on the side of the heater a kick and dislodged them.
Have a look from the drivers side at the white plastic levers on the side of the heater. Get someone to move the temperature control and make sure they move.
If everything looks all right, you need to make sure the rubber pipes at the back of the engine are getting hot: these lead to the heater.
The radiator hoses at the front are supposed to be hot at the top and cooler at the bottom.

hi mate mine worked when i 1st got the jimny but then in the middle of last winter it packed in i think its the heater matrix , I'v checked all the hoses and heater controls and they all function as they should. I havnt done anything the heater heater matrix is about £60. I'v got an inverter in the car so im just going to plug a normal fan heater into it that is much cheaper. I hope this works or im going to freeze my B*lls off this winter because its forecast another bad one Bring on the Jimny.
