I'm sure some of you have already come across this but thought it worth a mention. Was having a good clean under the Jimny last weekend and noticed a lot of muck around the inside of the rear light clusters. A quick removal of the rear bumper (Simple 8 bolts) revealed the both the nearside and offside rear quarter panels were almost gone  !!! Now much more work than a quick hosing required - although as these are not seen the repair has been well treated with underseal. Sorry should have taken some photos. But have a quick check - unmissable problem !

I found exactly the same on mine last week. Both sides rotten as a carrot!

Fortunately, my plan from the start was to cut off the rear corners in order to fit 37" tyres so it doesn't matter too much.

This evening, out came Mr Plasma Cutter - and now the wheel arches are big enough and most of the rust is sitting on the drive!

It's surprising for a car which shows no other signs of rust anywhere. It might be worth everyone taking a look before it gets as far as the body mounts!
