Hi, has anyone removed the alternator on their Jimny? I need to remove mine to change my crank sensor, is it just a case of removing the tensioner bar at the top, then removing the bolt it pivots on at the bottom? Can I get away with leaving the bottom bolt and just rotating it out of the way to get at the crank sensor? Any tips would be greatly appreciated, just waiting for a gap in the rain to get on with it.

Cheers

Trevor

I didnt remove it, I just undid the 2 bolts athat hold it on, slackened the air intake and part of the throttle body off and was able to get in and remove it. Its a fiddly job but easier if you remove the pipework.

Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, just got to take it for a run now to see if the engine cutting out when hot problem is gone now.

Cheers for your help ooky_123, I would have wasted time taking the alternator off!
