no drive from front axle was created by darthloachie
Hi Guys
as it says - currently have no drive from the front axle
both half shafts and CVs have been taken out and checked and are ok
both aisin hubs have been checked - wheels spin silently when free but can hear movement when locked
however only turning the nearside turns the prop shaft
I am guessing it is something in the front diff?
only problem is it has an ARB air locker fitted
is it going to be a suzuki bit or ARB bit thats broke?
guessing it may be a planetary gear thats buggered?
if I lock the diff with the locker then still only the nearside turns when you turn the prop
Any ideas are welcome
thanks in advance

i would say your arb is playing up and not locking.

no but when it is not locked turning each wheel in tudn wont always make the prop spin. are you sure that both cv's and chafts are ok? try with the hub apart and just turning the shaft when engaged into the diff to see if anything will turn.
if you stop the NS from being able to turn and you turn the prop the OS should turn if the shaft and cv are good.
not sure if i make sense here....
i have had loads of diff and shaft and cv issues in he past....i own a landy...lol

Sorry "unsure" but I'd disagree. Both front wheels off the ground with the hubs locked rotating either front wheel by hand would result in either the prop turning or the other wheel turning in the oposite direction, whichever is least resistance (with a standard diff or a locker unlocked). With the locker locked turning one wheel by hand would result in the other turning in the same direction AND the prop turning.
From how you have described it darthloachie it looks like one side of the diff but I'm not sure if that's possible have a look at this,
Are you definitely definitely sure it's not a half shaft?

Hi
Had both half shafts out and they are fine - so are the CVs
when we broke it we also broke the rear prop so drove home with the arb locked and got drive only from the nearside front I think -it pulled to the left under power
