My mechanic drove the car everywhere yesterday, in traffic, peak time (not offroad!). He said it went perfectly and temp gauge sat just under halfway. He set the fan to come on just before it would usually come on - or just before the computerised mechanism told it to come on.......sorry but I am not mechanically-savvy. I am picking Suze up in half an hour and will just have to keep my eye on the temp gauge. Will keep you posted.

Good luck with this, hope all goes fine now.
Let us all know the outcome, especially if it's good.
Fingers crossed for you.

Thnks Keefe. I can really hear the fan when driving now, but temp gauge sitting nicely in middle. Seems like the fan is on all the time - hope it wont mean more $'s for fuel. Will keep you posted, had so much work done, it shld run like 'new'.

My little Suzuki is running fine now, but I have decided to sell it. You know that it has just about been fully reconditioned and serviced regularly (full log book available) - so spread the word.
Again, I am grateful for all the suggestions and support provided by BigJimny fans!!
Cheers

After a really 'muddy' day out at Tong this year, i got an OEM REaditor for £110 ($160) delivered ... from Northern Radiators (UK based, but there must be company's over there that supply similar) ...
Heres the link - www.northernradiators.co.uk
The Radiator is got was their #SZ14 model ...
It took me just 30mins to get the old one out and new one in!!

just a crazy thought but is it actually overheating or is the dial/sensor broken?
When it overheats can you hear/see the water in the expansion tank boiling?
You've replaced pretty much everything it could be....
Edit: doh! just saw how old this thread is and you've decided to sell, good luck with the sale. Shame you have to move on
