well, an update on the tyre choices..
FInally have decided on Special Tracks.
an interesting side by side photo was posted on Difflock showing a 30x9.5
... I think this is as wide as I will go as I now donot have the megga wide arches
This is a 215 BFG KM2 next to a 9.50 (235) Fedima
As Little Ooky currently has 215x80x15 diamond backs fitted, I feel this is wide enough (plus a 9.5 should fit on a 6J wheel so no need to upgrade the existing wheels .. (oh, plus they are only £72 a corner, so delivered come in under £300) :woohoo:

They do seem to be the tyre of choice at the minute. I know people who run the real deal simex and others running insa turbos/malatesta these cover a variety of trucks from stock jimny through mildly modded discos up to full on challenge 90's. A lot of the challenge trucks i've seen run the same pattern. Yet to hear anything against them.

they're great - but you might need a stock of half shafts

Haha .. Most of our offroading is done though mud & water. An agressive Mud Pattern that can bite down is what we need. If the half shafts do eventually go .. and look to be a noticeable weak point, Ill either upgrade to Toyota axels or start building a stock
