Air Con Retro Fit?? was created by v8dougie
After fitting my alarm over the past weekend, I pulled out the blank plastic cover next to all the heating controls, where I was going to put the flashing LED, only to find a connection randomly "plugged" in to the plastic blanking plate. I assume this is the air con wiring which would be fitted to some more fortunate owners!
My question is, is it possible, has it been done, to retro fit air con to my Jimny? If so what would be needed? Compressor, condensor, fans, associated piping, but is that it? Would it connect to the existing heater matrix? Is the wiring actually there for the air con? Anyone with air con in their cars able to send me pics of what their car has, or better still, any exploded views of air con components?
Any comments gratefully received. Hope I have posted this in the best place, also did do a search and found very little on air con at all!
Cheers in advance.

I fitted aircon after getting lucky on ebay and i picked the full aftermarket suzuki kit for £150 off some bloke with a garage who obviously had a couple of kits lying around it only took me and my buddy one afternoon to fit it. with this kit everything was included and it made it very easy to fit i also still have the manual that came with the kit and when i get some time i will scan it for you and send you a copy (maybe Martin could put it on the site somewhere for everyone) but take my advice you cant beat getting the full components brand new it all fits so much better.

I was also lucky on e'bay about 5 years ago, however this was for my grand vitara, suzuki supplied kits for £1,000,000 and I paid £60, I fitted it in a few hours and it was easier than a lego kit. Then just made a visit to a garage to oil up the compressor and gas the system up.
A friend also got a kit on e'bay for his 2003 jimny but this was for the earlier engine and apparently the compressor mounts are completely different, and sold it on again.
However I was lucky and it was a £60 very well spent and it is still ice cold and has never been topped up since. My GV would now be long gone if it wasn't for the A/C and full leather interior all sourced on e'bay.
These kits are now as rare as rocking horse sh1t , but my only advice would be to keep an eye on e'bay.
I've also got a manual for the GV2000 if this is of help to anyone.

Mine was from a suzuki dealer in Kieghley, think they were having a clear out of stock to make way for the new model.
