Just make sure that the male threaded ends have threads right to the end, or re-use the originals.
Most of the cheap threaded fittings have a 5mm plain piece and only go into the wheel cylinders one or two turns so they won't tighten up.
Oh, standard brake pipe is 3/16" o.d.
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there
