I am preparing a 2007 Jimny to take to and register in France to replace my Samurai. I have fitted an internal roll cage which makes it difficult to refit the rear seats. As the car originally had 4 seats, and presumably its 'Certificate de Conformitie' and homolgation papers when I receive them will show that, will I have a problem when I take it for its Controle Technique if it only has the front 2 seats and none in the rear? I have left the rear seat belts in and can quite easily fit the seat backs. Its the seat bottom that will cause the problem.

Also it has a 3" suspension lift, 2" body lift, ORA winch bumper and rear bumper but I don't think that will be a problem. My Samurai had those and passed its CT without problem.
I will refit standard size tyres for the CT as I don't think oversize are allowed, although most off roaders have them!
Any advice much appreciated!

hi,
the easiest way is to go ask the controller before if no problem for the CT ( and if problem, you change and go in another CT ); or ask a 4x4 preparator in France where they go for the CT, because in theory, nothing must be changed :S .

A+

Thanks for that - its always more difficult if you don't understand how things are in another country. Good advice though. The guy at the CT centre seems to quite like my wife so we will go together!
