DISK BACKING PLATE BOLTS was created by myers647
:( Hi there does anyone know the size of the 4 bolts that secure the disk backing plate on. I was going to change my kingpin bearing today but couldn't get the last bolt off typical eh. An I didn't want to just cut it off because I use it for traveling to work every day.

Thanks

If thats the thin metal plate, on the inside of the break disk, then i had the same problem. I striped one bolt trying to get the bugger off. In the end i could not even remove one so i found if your very carefull you can remove the vacume pipes by reaching around it and using a flat bladed screw driver. It is a lot tricker than normal.

You don't need to remove the disc or backing plate to change king pin bearings. I did explain a few weeks ago. just take the caliper off and hook it out of the way, take off the ring of bolts holding the big seal on and after removing the kingpins pull off the whole hub complete with the half shaft. Simples !! half an hour each side and voila.
