Hi Guys,

been a while and I have another question, few months ago I fitter a lock-right in the jimny. I love it offroad but hate it onroad when it pops and it pops a lot. I don't care about the sound, but the 'hicking up' of the engine and car is really annoying... I now try to drive it so it maintains locker in curves, just to rule out the unpredictiveness...

Now I've been thinking about replacing the whole damn thing with a spool so it just is permantly locked...
does any of you guys have any experience with it?

I would care if it eats tires on asfalt but are the axles strong enough to cope with that?

thanks !

From what I hear buying a "spool" is a waste of money, you will find it cheaper to simply weld the Diff as this does the same and saves money.

However, I would have thought that driving with the Diff locked up woul dbe as bad as the Lockright sounds. Surely it will bounce and skip along the road and could well break something in the meantime.

I have heard that Lockrights need some careful setting up (Shimming???) and if you get it correct they are quiet and relatively smooth in operation.

I have a Locker in the rear of my Jimny - love it, on and offroad.

OK it 'clangs' (scares the sh1t out of passers-by) occassionally (when T-case winds up) ... but other than that its fine!!

Jalapeño, IISY?

Rob Storr did them - don't know if he still does - he is hard to get hold of but I found the best time was about 4.00 to 4.30 by ringing him on 07815 182857

If not then D&G tuning stock them at 359 euros + postage 0032 476 401067
