clutch problems was created by vitara_mad
me & my bro both have jimny's & both needed a new clutch as they was slipping so we started by doing my bro's first got it all fitted & its still slipping so after alot of head scratching & taking clutch off & back on several times just to make sure we not missed something its still the same & im out of idea's to whats wrong.

the only think i can think of is either the flywheel is worn or the friction plate is not thick enough

does anyone know what the thickness of a new jimny friction plate is & the depth of the reccess on flywheel where the friction plate sits as i presume that is suppose to have that bit of reccess on it it's 2mm on both these flywheels

any help or suggestions will be great as im getting rather annoyed with it now as its a simple job to replace a clutch ive done plenty before on vits & even did my bro's jimny when he first got it

cheers

Did you replace the pressure plate and bearing as well? or just the disk?

Any chance you've turned the adjustment wheel back to front on the cable, can happen:blush:

I've not changed a Jimny clutch but would imagine it has something to do with the adjustment of the cable.

If there is definite free play in the cable and it slips with a new pressure plate and friction plate then most likely the flywheel is worn as you say.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
