Ok basically, can you use a normal 2m recovery strap as a bridle between your 2 front recovery points?
Hard to find a decent priced "bridle" so can i use a 2m strap? sayyyy something like this for example?

With maybe a shackle in the middle, i know they are not reinforced in the middle though but a shackle is better than 2x straps together for friction etc isnt it?
Ok, just gimme some info haha. All i have at the minute is a 4m stretchy type tow rope from halfords (snow pulling) so dunno if thats any good and two shackles attached to the front eyes, tow bar on the rear.

Basically you can.
However I would strongly suggest you avoid joining ropes or strops with a shackle. If the rope/strop breaks then the shackle becomes a missile.
I would loop the ropes/strops together, put a stick or small piece of plastic or similar within the loop. This will stop the loops binding together making the ropes impossible to separate later.

Personally, I use a bridle between both front recovery points (standard) and then thread the duplex loop of my 4Meter strip though the bridle and then attach this to the other vehicle.
for a rear recovery, I use the tow bar and either use a shackle or just drop it over the ball. (I use a 1 meter safety rope to the rear recovery point just incase it detatches).
I use Green 2 Tonne Full duplex lifting strops (screwfix or ebay) these have a 9:1 safety certification for Lifting, so recovering shouldnt snap the strop in any situation.

I use a 2m strop between 2 recovery points on the front using 2 bluepin bow shackles, i run it through the loop of a 4m strop and then use another shackle if necessary to attach to another vehicle to recover.
I've yet to try it, but if it reaches i'm going to attach a carabina(sp) onto the roof bar to keep it out of the way.
I have another strap for recovering from the rear and usually hook it over the towball, i'd never snatch this way though (see my comments on recoveries in the recovering landies thread ) I just need to get another longer strap as they're sometimes a bit limiting for the recovering truck.
