hi guys i just bought a suzuki jimny sj series what i want to know if an airconditioning unit can be installed in it and also can the original dashboard can be replaced by one of a newer model

You can do anything if you have enough money to pay someone, or enough time and resources, but the air con is far too much trouble and expense. If you can find an identical model with aircon and swap the parts over you are in with a chance.

The newer cars have an electronic speedo, the SJ413 (badged as a Jimny) has a cable speedo, so I doubt if the dash is an easy fit either.

Just enjoy it the way it was made ;)

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

I fitted Air Con to my 2002 2L Grand Vitara in about 2 hours, Suzuki did a kit with full easy fitting instructions. They also did a kit for the jimny, i think this was for the 8v not the 16v.
I was lucky and got the full kit on ebay for £80, as the new model arrived and dealers were getting rid of old stock on ebay.
