I think I Took the transfer case out of the car 5 or 6 times the last weeks and most likely more than twice that the last few years.
I can do it in 15 minutes by now. But now it works fine again and better than ever. The last case I bought just cost me 100euro. The actuators I had were all rusted and had signs of water ingress. They would have failed sooner or later.

But why do one do this one self? For the sense of achievement fixing and the fun doing stupid offroading. I am not there to break stuff but to drive courageasly and still get home in one piece in the same car.

The mechanic in me is more than capable of doing the work it's the peasant farmer in me that resents doing the work when it could have been avoided by not driving through the swamp without a really good life and death type reason!
