Help needed - Drive shaft and CV joint was created by lghallam@yahoo.co.uk
New to Jimny ownership and broken a front left cv joint. Ordered new joint by Car Reg (2003) and its a 29/26 spline. Discovered drive shaft is a 22/20 spline which i understand is a much rarer option. So question can i source a CV joint that is a 20/26 or is it better just to get a new shaft which is 22/29. Any help on where i can source this would be great as cannot find anything on the interweb! Cheers.

In my norwegian euro car part store I find either 26/29 or 26/19 CV joints. (diff end of shaft is is 22 spline)
Sure you have the 20 counted correct?
"my" webshop did not have shafts only.
but doing offroad I would most likely upgrade to longfield shafts/joints if I broke one.

It's easier to buy a CV and shaft together. There are 3 different shaft to cv spline configurations, but (on a standard Jimny) the diff and hub ends are always the same.

When i broke my rear diff I could buy the diff or the whole rear axle from the wreckers at the same price. ~150 € for the lot but more freight for the whole axle. I bought the whole axle so now I have extra rear half shafts too.
Since changing the diff I have also used the half shafts and brake drums and brake lines from the low milage donor axle.
Also bought compelte driveshafts from the wreckers a few times for my 4wd Swift much cheaper than new or CV joints and much easier to swap complete shafts.
