I’ve decided to ditch the spare wheel and am looking for options to tidy up the boot door.

I’ve seen some examples in Japan with metal plates and I know there’s a Gen 4 cover available.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any other options and where to purchase them.

I have the same idea. Cannot remember having ever needed the spare wheel but murphys law will dictate me having a puncture the first time I leave home without the spare wheel I guess.
A tyre repair kit for pin hole repair, ekstra valves, an inflating can and on board air is more useful than a spare wheel.

Doing overlanding I would like to use the space on the door for a gas can, a bin bag, and possibly a water tight case of some sort. I can put the spare wheel on the roof for longer wilder trips.

But I will weld something bespoke myself.

As the BCD on the spare bracket is the same(?) as the gen4 Jimny it is not impossible to either rework or reuse a gen4 item on the gen3 maybe?
The spare wheel bracket are the same from Gen2 1982 until Gen3 2018 and allthough having only measured with a short glance it looks the same for Gen4 too.
