I have a 2002 petrol jimny.
tried to fit a kill switch to the fuel pump on the fuel pump fuse F1 point.
Now the engine turns over but doesn’t start.
When the ignition is turned on the relay doesn’t trigger and you can’t hear the pump start, even when I put it all back to how it was, with no switch.
the second fuse from the bottom is the fuel pump relay, are there any more and where.
It feels like it just needs triggering.
fuse ok, relay ok can’t understand it.
anyone know where I’m going wrong.
thanks

Does the check engine light come on when you switch the ignition on?
Do the charge & oil pressure lights come on when you switch the ignition on?

The oil pressure light comes on as normal but no yellow engine check lights and no sound of a prime.
I only unplugged the fuel fuse and plugged a switch jumper in

On that generation vehicle it is unlikely a check light will come on for no fuel pressure/no fuel pump running as the ECU had no means or reason to check for either.
I would dig out the wiring diagram and multimeter; is there a voltage at the relay in feed, is voltage present at the relay coli when the ignition switch is turned on? etc.
Can you swap the relay out with another or bridge the relay to check the pump come on

The absence of a check engine light at switch on is an indication that the ECU has no power to it.
Time to get out a volt meter.

Hi
I’ve measured the voltage at the fuse 12v and the voltage on the relay plus is 12v if I pull the wires slightly when I let it go I get 3v and no continuity between the minus and the black battery terminal.
When I connect 12v to pin 4 directly to the battery the pump starts and I can start the car.
Do you think the wires are broken
