Hi, I have a question about my suzuki Jimny and regarding a recurring problem known to the jimny.
This problem started four years ago. When I got on the highway, the steering wheel started vibrating violently, around 75 to 80 km/h. I went to the garage, and they checked everything. It turned out I had four different-sized tires. I bought four new ones and haven't had any problems since. A few weeks ago, the problem returned, at the same speed and on the highway. I slowed down and then gradually increased my speed. I maintained the speed between 80 and 90 km/h for half an hour, but no vibrations. Then I took a normal road where I could listen for noises while going around bends and roundabouts. No noise. Back on the highway, and no vibrations. After a few days, the problem returned. I then went to a tire specialist and asked them to check the tires, the driveshaft, and balance it. The tires and the driveshaft were fine. The balancing had caused more vibration in the rear than the front. Afterward, I got on the highway, and after about an hour, a severe vibration in the steering wheel started, lasting a few seconds and then disappeared. For safety's sake, I drove the rest of the way on the main road. Can anyone tell me what else it could be? I'm going back to my garage tomorrow to have more options checked. Thanks in advance.
1. Check the tyre pressures., most garages pump them way to high. they should be 23 front and 26 rear on these cars
.2 Check kingpin bearings for wear
3. Check all bushes around the front for wear
