I drove an Ignis SZ5 4grip before getting my Gen4 Jimny LCV and people flashed me all the time with my Ignis and it's LED headlights.

I dislike some of the quirks of the Jimny, but overall I still love the car.

I might have asked this before, but which OBD display did you buy?  I did think about one, but there seemed to be mixed views on whether they would work with a UK Jimny Gen 4.

I have just remembered why I bought the yellow one. Notwithstanding the irritating add ons of modern motoring, the yellow one is sufficiently similar to temeraire as to make one vitally important thing possible; I can work on it on my drive with simple tools. All the stuff I don't like is really just noise that fails to detract from the basic goodness of a jimny. And it's yellow which kinda suits me.

The no. 1 goal of car manufacturers is to make money.
Nowadays most people see their vehicle as a domestic appliance, hired on a PCP for three years then swapped for the latest model.

Suzuki clearly designed the new Jimny with a "retro" look and it worked, completely sold out immediately.

I am not sure how they could have done it better to be honest. As with the old/new Defender there are always those who prefer the "proper" Defender and complain that the new one is a "pavement princess" but it's one of the most successful vehicle in terms of sales that Land Rover have produced.

Ineos tried the "keep it original" path with the Grenadier. No fripperies just a traditional live axle 4x4. lt's a fabulous vehicle but it's not exactly flying out of the showroom.

lts just too niche for the "urban" buyer who, let's face it, makes up the majority of car buyers now.

Thanks for the link, as you mention no longer available.  I have bought a Lufi X7, mostly because it also has integrated GPS and Roll/tilt meter built in and was the same price as the older XS model (£99).  It isn’t installed yet, but I gave it a try and everything seems to work on it.

I will get it all working and do a little write up, just in case someone has some Xmas money burning a hole in their pocket.

I thought I'd add to this topic following an amusing morning today where I witnessed one of my collegues fully raging at his new cupra EV. Our yard at work is very tight on space at the moment so you have to reverse down a long driveway dodging boats, trailers, buildings and other parked cars. This is no problem for my Jimnys. No alarms or noises just reverse and park. I would probably like more light shining from the back as in the dark you can't see much but thats my only complaint. However onto the modern Cupra. I sat watching my collegue struggling to reverse questioning what is going on. Every so often the car was just slamming onto the brakes. I could see he was getting really angry with the car. When he eventually got to where he wanted he said the car was slamming on the brakes by itself and putting the handbrake on. Basically we think the sensors were getting into a tissy because of the rain and all the obstacles in the yard. Now perhaps there is a way to turn this feature off on that car but what is clear is that the Jimny is still such a simple little car without too much tech that is not worth getting annoyed over when you compare it to every other modern day car. I certainly walked away from my Jimny with a smug face this morning and it caused alot of laughter in the office
