My Jimny smells of garden juice…

Hey everyone, so I have a 3 door GLX that I got in January of this year.
Yesterday, I piled some garden waste into the back not knowing one of the bags got caught in the rain and subsequently had brewed what we are calling “garden juice”. I drove them down the road to the dump and soon realised they had left a NASTY smell in the back. Upon closer inspection there was a small pool of garden juice gathered under the board where the jack is kept. I removed the water and scrubbed the whole thing as well as removed the seats and side panels to clean EVERYTHING out.
Even after cleaning and scrubbing there is still a smell lingering in the back of the car and I have no idea what to do. Is there a chance that there is still some garden juice gathered somewhere that I’m missing???

I can't think of anywhere specific to look into apart from has it got into any carpets which I would wetvac or spray some carpet cleaner onto it. Other than that it can just simply be a case of waiting it out till it goes away. You could go down the air freshener route and
odour bomb devices although I think these just make the car smell even worse. When I had my boat we put bounce tumble dryer sheets around the boat which did keep it smelling nice throughout the winter without being too strong. The other thing I would do if you think your car is safe to leave unlocked is to simply let the car air. Leave the windows open all day for a few days.

Bicarbonate of soda powder absorbs smells, get an ice cream tub and pour a decent amount in, then either punch little holes in the lid, or leave the lid off and remember to put the lid back on every time you get in the car, and remove the lid every time you get out. (You can sprinkle the powder onto carpets, leave for a while and vacuum up but there will be tears if it gets damp so be careful!)

If you have a bottle of the original febreeze you can spray it lightly onto the carpet and upholstery if you are brave (bear in mind that it is now Winter, and it will never dry out). It is the only Magic Fluid that I've ever used that even comes close to doing what it claims on the label.

(Now you know one reason why you never, ever, ever carry garden waste in your own car. The other being that it is full of spiders, ants and witchety grubs which will all take up residence inside your car and keep showing up for months after)

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
