Hi all ! My 2003 Jimny has completely rotted out and going to a breakers on Monday! I have managed to get myself a very clean low mileage well looked after 2013 model .. it has just had a competition clutch kit fitted I had a look inside the inspection hole and right enough there’s a new green coloured clutch kit all looks new .. do these kits give a heavy pedal ? It wasn’t adjusted properly so made adjustments to get gears again and stop it dragging but it’s very stiff to depress the pedal I removed the cable when adjusting it and it seemed fine, the adjustment plastic nut turns easily by hand as the entire car is in very good condition… the stiff pedal is annoying is this due to the heavy duty pressure plate ? Will I have to just live with it or change the competition clutch for a standard one ? Thanks for anything you can help with !

I don't know which company uses green for clutch covers but in general I have never driven any car with a performance clutch that was nice in normal use.

I drive a 3-puck cerametallic clutch disc with sprung centre dampers and reinforced pressure plate, and I have to say that the feeling in pushing the pedal is pretty the same as the original. The problem arises when driving at low speed: it rattles and snatches and to avoid this I must do heel and toe. Not very comfortable for daily driving.
