I found it quite surprising that not only the owner's manual, but also the service manual were almost useless in this regard.
The transfer case takes 1.2 liters of "Suzuki Gear Oil 75W", in the absence of a recommendation from Suzuki, I would suggest a GL4, or perhaps a "yellow metal friendly" GL5 as the transfer case does contain synchronizers, and it might be easier to get a multigrade such as 75W90, which would have been the recommendation on earlier models

My local dealer is about on par with my local motor factor for the cost of oils and fluids so I use suzuki then I know it's right.
