Upgrading JB74 Gen4's LED Projector

Upgrading JB74 Gen4's LED Projector was created by SaltigaGT
Hi,
My Gen4 JB74 Led Projector headlights are ok on the city/town roads. However, did an outstation trip recently where there's no streetlights, even with high beam on its really not bright enough. Not to mention the high beams and quite low compared to my previous car which was a sedan.
Anyone know if the LED bulb in the projector can be replaced/upgraded? AFAIK it is supposed to be a sealed unit. IF the LED bulb were to burn out or shorted, have to replace the whole headlight unit according to the salesperson.
Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I find the LED headlights really bright, a lot of other people have commented the same. Have you had the alignment checked? Maybe they are pointing to low?
As an option, how about some extra Spot/Driving lights? I have the KC HiLites, they are the LED version of the Daylighters.

First, the LED projectors do not have replaceable bulbs, you replace the entire unit.
Second - is "bright" what you're really looking for?
I'm not certain what you mean by an outstation trip, but when you say there are no street lights, that suggests a trip down roads outside of the city, which could be, well, just about anything.
I've driven long straight highways with no street lights, I'm doing speeds in excess of 100kmh, and what I want is to be able to see into the distance, so not a "bright" light, but one with a decent reach, so a relatively narrow angle spot beam.
I've also driven two lane country backroads with no street lights, where animal strikes are a potential issue and as a result you keep the vehicles speeds lower, and you need a wider angle beam that lights more of the "road sides".
Neither of these is bright, and in fact, in either situation the last thing you want is "bright", because with a light that illuminates the foreground area in front on the vehicle brightly, your pupils contract and you're effectively blind beyond the reach of those lights.
A pair of decent quality driving lights, perhaps one spot, one spread, mounted at bumper or head lamp level would be my suggestion, if you're on dusty roads, go for halogen rather than LED, or use amber/selective yellow LEDs and avoid LED PODs mounted above the hood/bonnet level.

There are no street lights where I live and a combination of main roads and twisty country side roads. I have found the LED headlights on my JB74 excellent, they have fantastic reach on main beam and a good spread of light on dip, probably about the best headlights I have ever had and certainly perfectly adequate for the speed of the vehicle.
Quite common with other owners my lights were set too high and I adjusted them down, if anything they are slightly low and slightly too far to the left (we drive on the left here), this was partly deliberate as I was sick of getting flashed at to dip my lights.
I will adjust them again going in to winter, but if yours don’t illuminate the road ahead or the beam pattern is too close then I would suggest they are too low.
The JB74 does have a headlight leveller on the rear suspension, it might be worth checking this, especially if your vehicle has been lifted.
Otherwise as others have mentioned get some spot lights.
