This is starting to make me feel in a way comfortable I don't have too many and in equal amount envious that I don't have enough. Oh an James enough with the planting ideas of a shed full of every type of jimny, I wouldn't get it past the council planning committee, too much of a change of use!

i think it is better to have The One than too many you do not get time to fix.

I even regret buying some of them.
But not regretting dumping those I did when i did.
If I had fixed up some of them i could have sold them but at the time the prices where so low there was no point in it and if I had kept them all I most likely would not had the time for them all and my drive would be even more crowded.
No regrets!

Edit: Ok, one regret. Not buying the LJ80 for 1000€ some 10-12 years back. I was there with a trailer too and had the money for it. That hurts.

I get that to a point. If you only have 1 then you are always in the right car. But now I have one for the heavy lifting I do feel that preserving one as a nice thing has a lot of merit. It's making the experience of doing something with temeraire something to be anticipated and indulged to the furthest limit.

Two for me, a 2011 SZ3 bought in 2019 and then part ex for a 2020 SZ5 in 2024.

I did hire one for 3 days in St Lucia in 2009, does that count?

Ones that got away...

1. Our old SJ410
2. Two LJ80s, complete but in boxes being sold cheaply locally a few years ago. As they were completely dismantled they would have been a straight forward restoration as there was easy access to all parts for welding etc

If we're including borrowing and hiring then a 1987 hard top 410 in brown some time in the early mid 90s, it belonged to a mate when I had subaru pickups and before the nerc act ruined green lanes.

Lj80 hmmmm! Hard top in yellow like the model one please!
