When most Jimny owners say they have "death wobble" they are referring to a slight steering wobble at 40-50mph that goes away again as speed changes. It wouldn't even be noticeable from outside the car.

This is how I perceive the complaints - many owners of solid axle vehicles have never seen or experienced death wobble, and call any wobble death wobble, if it starts at a given speed or only occurs within a specific range of speeds, then it's not death wobble, it's speed wobble, induced by out of balance wheels.

It's very easy to create a death wobble conducive scenario on a Jeep, large wheels, large lift, poor suspension geometry, not so much on a Jimny

Look at it like this it's like cancer screening if we as experienced practitioners tell someone they have a problem to deal with earlier rather than later we are saving them from unnecessary further complications and at the same time keeping other people safe too. I'd much sooner have a stage 1 diagnosis than a stage 4.

Found this video of a Jimny with death wobble:/quote]

This is how the same guy solved the problem:

Not sure what component he did not replace but no mention of Kingpin shims.
Martin Shine the administrator and owner of this site probably knows more about Death Wobble than most, the following is one of his posts on the subject:

The implication there being that the rest of us don't know what we are talking about. Keep this up and I will suspend your account. Again I'm locking this thread before it degenerates into a fight.
