Hi all,
I have a gen 3 which had black raptor shocks, when i bought the kit the seller recommended i fit the brackets shown below to the bottom of the rear dampers... to take pressure off the bottom of the mounting points. Apparently it puts them at the correct angle ?
anyone heard about this before? Is it advisable to use them ? I dont have thrm fitted atm just wondering if i should?
Thanks

There's another discussion on this and the general consensus seems to be don't fit them.

The rubber bush in the shock is already there to allow for changes in the shock angle, and does a fine job. These brackets generally cause more issues with bent or broken shock mounts as they cause the suspension to bottom out on the shocks rather than the bump stops. They might also cause your springs to dislocate (fall out) on full extension which is not desirable. I'd recommend against fitting them.

When doing a flex test by driving one wheel onto something tall, it is possible to see and feel if the dampers are binding or the springs come loose from their seat. When doing this test on my car with a 2" trailmaster lift I could clearly see that the rear springs came off their seat, and by wiggling the shocks I got the impression they where not binding. I added a 25mm rubber spacer to my rear springs and now it suits the lift and load of the car better.
And the most important thing, there is now more headroom under the awning.
the Trailmaster shocks are just a bit longer than the black diamond ones so they have room for a small spring spacer.
