Gen 3 2007 Jimny struggles when at around 75-80mph was created by LlamaDaisy
Heya,
I've had an issue with my gen 3 2007 Jimny where when you are driving at around 75-80mph and above the engine starts to struggle and shake a bit, all you have to do to fix it is pull over turn the engine off and then on again and all is fine. I've seen posts before about it being about some kind of sensor issue but I can't remember which sensor it is. If anyone knows which sensor this could be and how easy replacing it is (if its something I can do myself with minimal car knowledge or something best to take to a garage for) it would be much appreciated!
Thank you!

You are thinking crank sensor
But at this speed it could be other things
Coil pack, fuel starvation, partial blocked cat/rear silencer
Not many people push em past 70mph

80mph in a Jimny, l
wouldn't try that in our Gen4 version. Will a 2007 Jimny do 80mph?

Indicated yes but the actual speed is going to be around 6 to 8 mph less when checked against a GPS.

I'm not surprised the car is shaking at 80mph. I certainly would be 😂 Most won't take them over 60-65mph.

95% chance it's the crank sensor. Over time it will start happening at slower and slower speeds. I've had 6 Jimnys and they have all been capable of sustaining 80mph. People choose to drive them slowly but that's down to the driver, not the car.
