Rear axle on 2004 1.3 , 16v abs was created by steve tnx
We have a 2004 1.3 petrol, 16v with abs brakes.
In need of a new rear axle as 3 of the connections have broken.
has anybone got one for sale?
Alternatively has anyone fitted the rear axle off a vvt engine model to the 16v vehicle? Any issues with dif ratio?

Hi!
There is a difference between Auto and manual gearbox and the diff ratios too.
www.bigjimny.com/forum/7-jimny-technical...etrol-manuals#181775
Or more correctly, if it is an auto it is the same but if it is a manual they differ, check the table in the link.
But if it is "just" your axle housing broken you can swap your existing diff over to your donor axle.
That way you can also buy a newer axle with less milage/rust than the period correct ones with the correct diff ratio.
Or to get your old axle welded too should not be a big issue if you can find anyone up for the job. Your axle did not look so rusted and better treated than mine. The brackets can be bought new or welded as is with a bit of added material. I welded my own as the holes for the radius arms was getting oval from the beating of the mountain roads.
