Ha.
So maybe they're popular ?
Open up your factories & make them in the West.
Let Toyota sell them in the USA.

Looking for a nice clean and straight LHD Jimny..... Not any more.
Got one that seems to have been magnatized and driven through the "Big Jimny Bits" parts stores too quickly so it missed a few items.

This surely needs to be a wake up call to Suzuki and a bit of a blow to them that the car they discontinued continues to do so well across the world without them fully behind it. I'm sure had the 5 door been on sale in Europe it would have sold out instantly. The new swift & vitara hasn't sold out, yet the Jimny which doesn't get the same backing can very easily...... come on Suzuki Bring it back!!!

The reason the Jimny was discontinued in Europe was the draconian emission regulations, regulations that in my opinion (and I will admit to not being in Europe), that will see the European automotive market with very few choices.

Don't blame the manufacturers, blame the governments.

I'll stop here, I don't want to take this too far off topic.

As above really, Suzuki would have to re-engineer the Jimny as a hybrid or electric vehicle. They're clearly selling all the Jimnys they can make in the Far East, so why go to the expense to re-engineer it for Europe and America when they wouldn't be able to fulfill the orders.

There have been, I believe, numerous discussions on this forum, on why the Jimny as an EV would be impractical, the weight of the batteries to give it any decent range would make it excessively heavy.

As a "mild hybrid", it might be feasible, but, given the fact that EU is looking to ban all ICE vehicles by 2030, will the potential sales be worth the investment in engineering time?

What I want to know is what are the EU governments doing to ensure that there will be an EV charging infrastructure in place by the time the 2030 ban takes effect.

The power has to be generated somewhere and distributed to the end user somehow.

That's having a roll on effect, that's going to stop new sakes in a lot of other countries, I'm just hoping they open a new factory in Thailand.
That's for selfish reasons, as cars built in Thailand cost a lot less in Thailand and currently the Jimny is stupidity expensive as it's imported.
So that would mean I can buy one there half the price they are here, rather then twice as much as things currently stand.
But on their side of things they love the Jimny in Thailand and they would fly off the shelves, but currently very few Thai can afford one.
