Gen3. Man ual Hubs fitted. was created by Mert1
Hi,
I have recently fitted manual hubs on my 2016 Gen 3. I fitted them on my previous Gen 3. as well. I have been reading all the threads on how to short out the switch so that I do not have the 4 x 4 flashing lights when I engage 4 wheel drive. ( I can't remember what I did on my previous Jimny.) Unfortunately I can't find anything that tells me really clearly which switch I disable and where it is. I understand how to block off the vacuum pipes, it is only the switch I am unsure of. Some of the threads I have read I'm not sure if they apply to a 2016 Jimny or not. I would be very grateful anyone could help me out.
Thanks in advance,
Martin Verdeyen.

Under the battery, next to the vacuum solenoids is a white 2 wire connector for the vacuum switch. That's the one that needs bridging to trick the system into thinking it is holding a vacuum.

When I changed to manual hubs, the pressure system and solenoid valves were still working, it was the complicated metal and flexible vacuum tube down to the wheels which had gone, so rather than taking the wires off the pressure switch, I just pulled the flexible hose off the 'lock' solenoid + pressure switch and plugged the end of the tube. Then when I engage 4WD, the lock solenoid still activates and a vacuum is seen by the switch. When the 4WD is de-activated the vacuum switch returns to normal.
I did it this way so it could be easily reversed, which I did do prior to selling the vehicle, I installed new vacuum lines to the hubs and removed the plug. Plus plugging the hose was easier than trying to reach the electrical terminals, but only works if some of the vacuum system is still working.
