I would not do it, and definitely not recommend it, but several people in here say it is ok.
I can't really comment on an SJ or even a Jimny without an anti-roll bar. Although the Jimny uses radius arm suspension.

All I can say is, these had no anti roll bar from the factory and where perfectly fine....

So I'd be quite shocked a Jimny wouldn't be ok too. The front suspension of the Jimny is not so different from that of the Defender/RRC/D1, which also offers a degree of natural anti roll and anti squat in its design.

Let me put it this way - fitting an anti-roll bar to a vehicle costs money, so the cost of building the vehicle goes up, which either results in the sale price going up, potentially reducing sales, or the profit margin being slimmer.

My point is, Suzuki's engineers would not have fitted the bar if it wasn't necessary, if you know more about suspension design than they do, by all means remove it.

My experience driving vehicles with the bar removed (yes, I have done it on more than one vehicle), suggest that removal from a vehicle that is going to be used on road, is not a good idea, at least one of them is similar to Yazukas.  I have no intention of trying it on a Jimny, consider me older & wiser.

Thanks - I'm really unsure about that - an ARB is essentially a torsion bar, a spring, heating it, tempers it - and yes, amongst the things I have done as an "uneducated youth", was heat & bend ARBs - not the smartest of things to do.

Bought a 2nd hand bar - just going to replace it. Transfer box replacement ordered, gearbox ready for refurb, clutch cable to change and winch to repair / replace. Will check water before entering next time!

A missing ARB where one was fitted as standard is a "dangerous" MOT fail. (5.3.3 a)

I expect your insurer would roll their eyes and refuse to cover you if the vehicle were involved in an accident without one too.

If the accident was expensive enough, no doubt they'd get a tame expert to state their opinion that the missing ARB contributed to the accident.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
