Washer fluid warning light (Gen 4)

I thought maybe no-light was a Japanese thing -- the Jimny is my first Japanese car -- but a quick google shows that many other Japanese models have this light.
So I don't know. Up until now I thought it was universal, since apart from the safety factor running your washer pumps dry can damage them.

Just the opposite for me: in >20 modern cars, the J is the first I've had that doesn't have such a light.I've never owned a car that had one.

My other car (2001) has a washer fluid low light, it comes on all of the time as I have a small leak somewhere and I am sure all of the other lease cars I had over the past 20 years had a washer fluid light, so I had just assumed my Jimny would have one, but I have never checked.
Martin, is your buzzer the pump complaining as it runs dry?

First thing that I did when I got my gen 4 from the dealership was skoosh off all the supplied screen wash and put my own in. There was no warning light.

Why would you do that. Surely screen wash is screen wash, l've never found any that's noticeably better or worse except for the "Winter" type that supposed to not freeze.

I thought that until I used some cheap car plan stuff that coagulated into a gell in the lines on both jimny. The gelled goo then fed bacteria and went black and was a real pig to remove.
