Suzuki found it could avoid the fine by simply dropping its one non-hybrid car from the range.  Had it kept the Jimny on sale, the fine would have worked out to £8,000 per Jimny sold.

Both Suzuki and Isuzu threatened the government in NZ to close up altogether when our "clean car standard"  was being put in place by our last government. There was also a "clean car discount" (The "Ute Tax" that has now discontinued) that the Swift etc. actually benefited from as they are such a low emmision vehicle (for an ICE), but now the threshold has tightened I don't believe it still qualifies. As they would have had to pay a fine of $45 (21GBP) per gram over the average of the whole vehicle range, it made operations in NZ very expensive. So far they are hanging in there as the new government is planning a reform of the CCS. Isuzu simply didn't have any low emmision (read: EV) vehicles at all to offset the utes they sell, along with the now defunct "Ute Tax" it would not have been profitable for them to continue.

Hello to you all!
I just imported an Allgrip  JB 74 into the UK via Wellhouse Leisure  in Yorkshire .They purchased the car in Japan and completed all importation paperwork . Great company to deal with and it all went remarkably smoothly but was not cheap! It is a brand new ,verified 3km mileage 2024 auto box ,4 seat  variant and it came with lots of extras which might not have been standard on UK cars like lane change, rear storage box, heated seats,LED lights, wind deflectors, tinted rear glass etc . Wellouse registered it in the UK, fitted UK speedo /fog /full underseal  and a UK DAB radio with window aerial and  reversing camera. It came with 6 months road tax and a three year warranty. They recommended an insurance company and we pay £350 fully comp annually  ( no convictions ,full NCD)
I have already debadged it and have in mind a few minor storage mods based on some experience with a campervan company I worked with which I will post if anyone is interested

Vanvliet, sounds like a great example. Did you get the JDM-only keyless entry as well?

Can you tell us how Wellhouse changed the speedo interface? I'm curious as to whether they changed the dial faces only, or instead chucked in an MPH instrument panel.  The question has come up on the forum before.

Thanks for posting your experience!

They just change the face of the clock I believe. The odometer still shows kms. I'm shortly going to be ordering one myself from another source. The spec looks better than the 2020 SZ5 I had.
