Sounds to me like one of two things:

1. You are driving in 4WD on a normal road surface, this should not be done

2. A CV Joint has gone.

As Martin says in his first point, a Jimny does not have a centre diff so therefor the front and back wheel are turning at exactly the same speed when in 4wd, this is fine in a straight line or on a slippery surface, however when turning (especially full lock) one wheel is going to need to move at a different speed to the other and therefor will feel like it is locking up (unless on a very slippery surface). Ive stalled mine a few time when in 4wd on full lock.

It is for this reason that a Jimny cannot be used in permanent 4wd.
