Morning all! Having picked up a mid 80’s Jimny, I’m tasked with replacing many broken bits. Column switches, clocks, heater unit…..the list goes on!
QUESTION…… Older Jimny spares are scarce, so what other makes/models were using the same stuff?
I’m hearing that Peugeot and old Tolbot could be compatible.
HELP!!!!
Very many thanks!
Peter

I think much of it can be sourced from India as the maruti version is not long out of production.

Presume you mean an SJ410/413? As Lambert mentions, these were in production for a long time in other parts of the world, after they were phased out in Europe. Still plenty of parts suppliers for the SJ stuff, just make sure to search under SJ rather than Jimny. - e.g.

Many EU web based storefront dropship like autodoc and similar can have much of the service parts like brakes and filters as they are the same more or less as the Gen.3 jimny.
For more special parts India on ebay.
Bought a New exhaust for my 1984 410 from a web based shop In august.
Be prepared to get the wrong parts so make sure there is a picture so you can see if it matches.
I have been lucky that when the parts is not 410 but 413 it is ok, got one of those too..
Most 1985 SJ can use the maruti parts but not all the engine parts. Most electric and interior parts should be ok. Most 1988 or newer is a samurai but stil most parts are the same from 1985.
And then there are some exceptions..
Peugeot or Talbot? No way!

I’ve got a set of column controls I can sell you. Came with my project. Brand new Indian ones they seem to match with the earlier cars. Think I also have a most of a gauge cluster somewhere too.
