How far is too far in a Jimny?

I have just completed a 2,100-mile road trip from UK to Andorra, including a week’s off roading in the Pyrenees mountains, and was so impressed with how my Jimny performed that I feal compelled to share my experience with other Jimny owners. I bought my Gen4 Jimny three years ago and have found the forum to be a valuable source of information; however, this is my first post.My concerns about taking a Jimny on a long road trip were largely unfounded. The Jimny seems much better suited to cruising on French motorways than UK motorways due to better road conditions and generally less traffic, particularly HGVs, which also seem to travel at lower speeds than in UK. The satnav was excellent and the air conditioning very efficient, even at temperatures of up to 37 degrees C.As for the off-road tour, unsurprisingly the Jimny coped admirably on the mountain tracks through the Pyrenees, some of which reached heights close to 9,000 feet. I am sure the Jimny was much more fun to drive over this type of terrain than a bigger 4x4 and its small stature certainly helped navigating the narrow streets found in some of the mountain villages.  Overall, an impressive performance from the Jimny and I am very pleased that I ignored the doubters and ‘raised eyebrows’ (from non-Jimny owners of course) and decided to give this long trip a go. So pleased you went for it, its a memory that will stay with you forever. I'll second the pictures if you have a few.

Plenty of more comfortable and faster cars available for these types of trips, that's what causes a "raised eyebrow" in a few that don't understand what they are missing. Sure cars are so good these days, I would be the first to agree, but in many cases they have engineered out the charisma and ultimately made them boring.
They have lost their character and soul. None will make you smile or make the memories quite the same as as a vehicle that still has that special je ne sais pas.

Stunning scenery.

The scenery was fantastic - the photos do not really do it justice.

Many Danish and German Suzuki tourist visit Norway. Some Gen3 but now mostly Gen4 Jimnys. Easy to spot as there is no Norwegian Gen4 Jimnys here. (6 to 10 in total in Norway)
Some even reach Lofoten or Nordkapp, a distance from Oslo compared to that to Italy approximately.
I have also a few longer trips in my gen3 Jimny, not as long as yours but 3-4 trips now of 2000-ish km's (1250 miles) around Norway, Sweden and Denmark. No problems. I pull a trailer as well.

Which part of the Pyrenees did you visit? I try to get down there each year to ride around on motorbikes.
Regarding lorry speeds, they will be doing the same 56mph/90kmh that they do here. But lower traffic levels certainly help things to run smoothly.

It's 60 on dual carriage way and motorway for trucks now.

We did something similar last summer. Eurotunnel to France, overnight in Reims, a week in the Swiss alps and then back. This was with three of us in the car and the Jimny was great. Something bigger, more luxurious and more powerful would have done it better no doubt, but where's the fun in that?
