Suzuki now have automatically extended the standard warranty if you have had the vehicle serviced at a main dealer to the Suzuki service specification. The dealer has to pre-authorise the work with Suzuki providing them with proof of the past services. It does not cover parts which would be considered fair wear and tear in the period covered ie. spark plugs, brake pads etc

I understand that the "devil in the detail" is this clause.......

SERVICING REQUIREMENTS FOR YOUR SUZUKI Servicing must be carried out in accordance with vehicle manufacturer recommendations. Genuine Suzuki parts must be used. Oils and other fluids must be of correct specification and supplied by a Suzuki Dealer/Service Centre. Failure to comply with this condition will result in a Service Activated Warranty claim being rejected.

A number of dealers offer their own "service plan" that saves money by not covering all the steps in the Suzuki recommendations, therefore by taking a money saving service plan with a dealer you could be excluded from a warranty claim. Therefore before getting your car serviced check that the Dealers service fully qualifies you for the "Service Activated Warranty"
