Jimny 5 doors have vented front discs

Noticed this on a video of the new 5 door jimny, bleed nippe is at the top

Here's the brochure - the "features" may vary from market to market, but the "specifications" should remain across the board.

I have a question. If the cross sectional area of the piston in the caliper that appears to be used in the vented disc conversion available through Big Jimny is larger than standard, then surely the standard master cylinder piston stroke will need to increase to flow the greater amount of fluid required to fill the caliper cylinder. In other words, brake pedal travel will increase.
Is this correct?

The theory is correct, and according to my notes the 1.3 Jimny piston is a 51 mm diameter, and the Vitara piston is a 54mm, as is the piston from the 1.5 diesel Jimny.

Suzuki chose to use the same brake master on both models of the Jimny so it would appear that the increase in pedal travel is "within acceptable limits".

I've done a similar brake swap before on a Suzuki Swift, the increase in pedal travel was noticeable but not excessive, I hunted down part numbers and specs for the Jimny upgrade, but so far I haven't needed it.

Thank you fordem, it's always nice to get confirmation. With the bore sizes you have given me, I might be able to get an idea of the increased travel I might expect.

Unless someone has already done the maths?
