It's been a fortnight since I purchased my Jimny! My thoughts.

I picked up my Jimny two weeks ago and had to drive it 40 miles back to my house. It was the first time I had driven a Jimny and apart from the noise levels I found the experience rather enjoyable. I live in Devon and the Jimny is at home pottering along the narrow country lanes that abound in this part of England. It has a lot of miles on the clock and it's a 55 plate but it's been well looked after and looks good for it's age.
I was warned that rust is the main enemy and I did have a good look around before agreeing to buy. There is some rust but I nothing to worry too much about. I do intend to try and prevent it becoming a major problem in the future.
Seats are a tad uncomfortable and the interior is a bit basic. Mine has no aircon and a bog standard radio.... but it brings a smile to my face whenever I drive it and I am so glad I took the plunge and spent what I thought at the time a lot of money for a 55 plate.
I am so pleased with my Jimny!

Nice write up of your first couple of weeks ownership. The seats in my 2011 killed my back after a couple of hours and the wobble (fixed by replacing kingpin bearings) and the general wondering around at anything over 50 due to wind and road surface (fixed with a steering damper) all added to the general fatigue when driving a reasonable way.
I have since changed the seats and having travelled 300 miles on Saturday to the BigJimny event and the same back on Monday I am now happy with the drive on the main roads, in fact it doesn’t feel much different to any other vehicles I have driven recently. Apart from the speed that is, fast it is not.
Enjoy your Jimny, it sounds like you have a good one.

Hi Doc.
Would be interested in the spec. of the seats you fitted in your Jimny.
Cheers
