i got an advisory on the inner sill off side , so i had a look at it and yes it needs a small patch , so the plan is to do this job for next year , and tips on how it best done do i need to take of the plastic trim thankyou

As with all small patches of rust expect to keep digging far more than you can see on the surface to find good metal. And yes taking the plastic off the outside isn't a bad idea even if just to prevent it melting.

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)

Welding under a vehicle is a pain unless you have good access. So if you plan to do it yourself think about the best way to get easy and comfortable access under the vehicle to access the area to repair.
If you can't gain access and it looks like your going to be welding on your back under the vehicle consider getting it done by someone with a lift etc.
Not saying it can't be done, I've done it myself, but comfort is worth considering to avoid rushed "pigeon poo weld "repairs.
You need to cut out the rust back to rust free metal, so as Lambert indicated the hole will get bigger than you can currently see.

thankyou for your common sense replies , i was wondering how to get the best access to the job if i am to do it myself from the floor , i was wondering about tipping the jeep over on its side as far as i can without it falling over , perhaps the best option as you say is to get somebody with a ramp to do it thankyou it all helps in the planning lol
