That's really handy to know, so the four wheel drive creates an exception?

Also a "Car Derived Van" designed to be under 2 tons when fully laden is treated as a car for speed limits too. In practice very few vans fall into this category but the Jimny LCV might?

Martin
2003 M13 early KAP build.
3" Trailmaster lift with 1.5 Spacers on front
Customised winch bumper and roll cage
235/85R16 Maxxis Bighorns on 16" Rims, 4:1 Rocklobster, Rear ARB locker and on-board air
Corrected arms all-round, rear disks, Recaro seats and harnesses
As per a previous post, when I enquired I got the answer "Car derived van with no payload change from car, then its a car for speed limit purposes".
On the V5C it is a Light 4x4 Utility which seems to come under "dual purpose vehicle" - either way it appears to be allowed to use the car speed limits.

Many thanks for your response - most informative. Think it's safe to say that a Jimny LCV can be driven at the same road speeds as a (normal) car. Funnily enough it was in your area that the camera wagons were out in force on Saturday - hence triggering my enquiry.
