i bought this vehicle about a month ago.
It cranksd over for about 2 seconds before starting. At a battery center battery was indicated as faulty and replaced with a new one. This made no difference.. Alternator was indicated as fine.
I then charged it properly with a Victron battery charger.
Vehicle still took a few seconds to start - no difference
Then began taking voltage readings with a multimeter.
Day 1 - 13.15V after Victron charge
18 hours later - 12.86V
18 hours later - 12.53V
18 hours later - 12.49V
28 hours later - 12.49V
There is a tracker which is not active connected when I bought it. It will be removed on Monday. No other electronics except a media center that I replaced the original radio with. Apparently that is unlikely to be the culprit.
Someone said it could be that the previous owner jumpstarted the vehicle and that it damaged the computer box and cause the drain?
Faulty starter motor was suggested by another - apparently a nightmare to replace?
The term Media Centre, I assume this is an Android head unit? If permanent live and ignition are swapped over, you might find that the head unit is drawing 1A all of the time, this might account for the battery voltage dropping as fast as it is. The Jimny battery is quite small so 1A would soon cause battery to drain.
i don’t suppose you have a current meter to check the current drawn with the vehicle locked? If not does you multimeter have a 10A scale, if it does, open the bonnet, lock the car and put the meter in, normal current is about 30-50mA. If you do have high current, start pulling fuses unit the value drops.

Those voltage readings don't look problematic. Voltage in a good condition battery will naturally settle to around 12.5v. Does the starter motor sound slow or strained when you're cranking? And does it sound any different if you jump start it?
