Inspiration for rear storage

Hello all, I'm in need of some opinions, inspiration and some insight on what people have done for storage in the rear of their jimnys, I've got a gen 3, no rear seats, with a sort of parcel shelf configuration that I made and while it works well to organise my usual gear I've lost quite a bit of volume with it for larger items that can't/don't warrant me putting them on my roof rack. I appreciate any pictures and notes on what people would/wouldn't have done when making their storage solutions, cheers all.

I have a very simple plywood tray in mine that as it offers the maximum versatility and volume as I don't really know what I am going to be carrying from one day to the next. I have considered something like ammo cans mounted above the wheel arches which could be useful but they would also be attractive to the criminal classes whom might think there was something worthwhile in them.

Hi,
I've got a Gen 3 Jimny and have removed the back seats and got a plywood base deck - my next step is to fix some mounting hooks (for bungee cords etc to hold cargo in place).
I wondered if anyone has any advice on good places to fix mounting hooks or maybe has any better ideas than hooks and bungee cords?!
Cheers

I am keeping the back seats in my Jimny and made a boot box to keep tools etc in in the well behind the seats. This takes the floor up to the same height as the seats when folded down.
When time permits I am going to make a two part plywood tray to cover the seats and fit some of these foam carpet/workshop tiles to the top to provide a flat, reasonably level non-slip surface for our dog to sit on.

I used part of rear seat belts, sewn in some old ratchet strap to make loops
Quick release retractable ratchet straps.these hold my spare wheel down
Also attached dog trigger clips to rear belts to clip onto dogs harness
See top left of picture
Obviously remove my spare if dogs want a ride

Yes I've reverted back to just a plywood floor now, and you're quite right about the ammo cans

I've toyed with the idea of just a bungee type netting but it's not really what I want, I'm after a bit of organisation not just get everything in and make sure it's secure if you get what I mean

If I still had the rear seats that would be quite an attractive option but it's very very rare I've ever got passengers so I'll take the extra space

Now I do like that, where did you acquire those mounts for your shovel?
